The kids discover how telescopes use lenses to focus light and periscopes use mirrors to bounce it. We learn how involuntary eye flickers create the illusion of movement in the brain. Ava’s magic makes glass bowls disappear using the interaction of refraction and density. We create a zoetrope motion picture, bend laser beams with refraction in water and create a glowing drink with UV light and quinine. Fun future facts examine CT scanning to peer into the caskets of ancient mummies, and amazing flying bikes, that use propeller blades to generate a cushion of air to glide on.
